Proposal: 2013-2014 flyers roster scenario

This is my scenario (I would like to happen):

-Homer buy out Briere and pronger (compliance)...resign Briere (dont know if its legal) to a 4mil for 2-3 years (better then his 5mil for 2 years left
-Trade the rights of Iginla for a cond. 2nd 2014 Sign him to a 4.5mil 2 years or 5.5 for 1 year
-He also trade for the rights of Shattenkirk...1st 2013 meszaros and read...and sign for 6.5 per year

so we have this in place and 3mil or 2mil (Iginla) left on the cap for 2014.

A+ for realistic moves that Homer might make to improve this team.

I especially like the trade for Shattenkirk, the resigning of Briere, and the lowballing of Iginla. All extremely realistic.

Sure Bettman might get his panties in a bunch over us re-signing Briere after buying him out, but Holmgren doesn't read the CBA anyway, so we could always plead ignorance.

Pronger can't be amnestied (35+ contracts cannot be bought out) and you cannot amnesty someone and then turn around and re-sign them in the same offseason.

Where did you read 35+ contracts cannot be bought out? I thought the reason Pronger can't be bought out is because injured players can't be bought out aka Pronger would need to pass a physical to be bought out.

Even so, even if we bought him out normally, his cap hit will be the same as his current salary. Also, on LTIR, he technically doesn't affect the cap. If we bought him out or sent him down or whatnot, we would have to pay for him. Leave him here on LTIR.
