Well, it's pretty good alright. Bruins of the late '70s were a good, hardworking 'blue-collar' team (and they were definitely unlucky not to advance to the SC finals in 1979), but I wouldn't say that the team was bursting with talent or anything like that. And their most obvious shortcoming was that they didn't quite have a Lafleur, Clarke type of player - or Orr/Espo, if they are compared with cup winning Bruins of the early '70s. With the material they had, the Canadiens should have swept them (which they did of course).

Obviously I agree that the 2007 Ducks couldn't carry the 1977 Habs' jock.


Yes I agree with that, they did not have a game breaker and I think that was the big difference with those teams
