Bad news today for both the team and the player: Michael Sauer, the #6 rated WHL prospect for the draft according to Central Scouting, is likely out for the remainder of the season. He has been playing most of the season with a sore hip, and an MRI done over the Christmas break revealed damage that may require surgery. Sauer is expected to see Portland doctors when the Winter Hawks return to Portland (they come back from the break on the road) and then decisions will be made regarding the course of treatment. If surgery is required, there is an expected 4 month rehab from the surgery.

This sucks! I like the Sauer alot. I hope he doesn't miss the whole year, or he'll have to opt out likely. Dang, he was starting to really turn things up.
