I was curious, Mtl core is between 21-24 and I was wondering what would be the cost asked for future good #1/#2C

I will not put Borgstrom, Thomas, Vilardi, etc because Mtl already know they are unmovable.
Would be great to have the Pov of different fans on those Centers and their price.

1. Tyson Jost: is he movable ? what would be the cost from Colorado
2. Sam Steel: Pretty sure he's set in stone in Anaheim but I would like to know how the Ducks see him
3. Michael Mcleod: asking price from NJ ?
4. Trent Frederic: asking price from Boston ( direct rival so the price would be high)
5. Anthony Cirelli: movable ? price asked ? tampa prospects is just insane ( Ya I'm jealous, please let's trade GM)
6. Chytil or Andersson : Pretty sure they are unmovable, if they aren't what would it takes ?
7. Morgan Frost : price asked ?

I forgot a bunch, don't hesitate to propose other centers!

I know Mtl doesn't have great assets to trade, but we all heard Price/Weber/Pacioretty could be traded since the club is "supposedly" on getting younger.

If Washington lose Carlson would they be interested in something around Petry and Burakovsky ?

what would be your unreasonable price.

3 OA, Drouin, or Galchenyuk. And to be very clear, im well aware Frost isnt worth close to any of those pieces. But there's nothing else that fits need/age parameters for what Philly is doing currently. and we arent selling him for 'pieces'.

But you have a pretty solid young core, no ? Couturier/nolan/konecny is pretty insane and your D prospects is amazing too

Konecny isnt a C, hes a RW. Frost is going to be part of the core moving forward. The idea is that if his offensive game translates to the NHL, he and Couturier can both match up against other teams Top Cs and not be over matched - i.e. two responsible 2 way centers, and let Patrick run riot on another teams 3/4 lines. If it doesnt, he becomes a responible 3C and Couturier and Patrick hold down the top 6 spots.

We have everything to gain in keeping him, and everything to lose in trading him now, unless we're the clear winners of said trade.

Cirelli is theoretically movable for the right price but I don’t see it happening. He’s well suited for the 3C role we have him in, we don’t have an immediate replacement for him, and while the only thing that would make sense to trade him for would be a young defenseman the caliber of player he’s likely to bring back isn’t going to be any better than the guys we already have waiting in Syracuse. Using Montreal as an example he’s not good enough to get Mete and Juulsen isn’t enough of an upgrade on Foote or Cernak to be worth weakening our center depth over.

I don’t think Jost is untouchable but depth scoring is a need of ours and he has the potential to add some. He isn’t a candidate to be traded for futures or a downgrade+.

The players you are inquiring about aren't gotten via trades, they are acquired via the draft
Nobody moves those types of players unless you have a stockpile of them. Or in Columbus' case, you'd rather build around a 1D instead of a center.

Problem for Montreal is they don't have a piece that someone would give up a 1C for.

Should have just held onto Sergachev..if they just would have accepted they needed to rebuild before the trade than you would already have arguably a cornerstone player to build around.

the key to a young center is MaxPac

Yeah, no, he isnt.

1 year of Patch isn't landing you a 20-23 year old center. That #3 pick you have? That's a different story....

Doubt MaxPac moves the needle much if the target is a good, young 1C (or 2C even). Good young 1Cs and top 4 defenders are hard to land -> high demand & low supply.

The players you are inquiring about aren't gotten via trades, they are acquired via the draft

Yep - agreed.

Why couldnt he? Maybe not alone but there are teams willing to add a 30+ goals scorer if there feeling there close to contention

From a pure value standpoint, maybe. The problem is, Interest in Pacioretty is going to largely come from contenders. Contenders also usually need cheap good talent on ELCs. That's why you generally see picks moved for rentals and not prospects. I'm ok with giving up something I dont really have/ dont know what it is, more than I am something I know I have.

For instance, while I dont think pacioretty is a g a good fit in Philly and wouldn't realistically make a move for him, I'm much more open to moving either the 14th ot 19th for him than I am Frost. Likewise, I assume, Panthers fans and the 15th vs Borgstromm.

every Mtl fans understand about the Draft a center > trade for one. but Mtl can't draft well for shit and when we do we trade him down for nothing. Right now we really need to find a 19-24 #1c to follow our core or we are doomed for 10+ years
