2 piece vs 1 piece

I was just wondering if you guys preferred one over the other. I've always used 1 piece for ice and 2 piece for street. What works for you?

Also, I'm looking into buying a new shaft. I found the Warrior Johnson Grip for $59.98 http://www.hockeymonkey.com/warrior-hockey-shafts-john-sr.html What do you guys think?

It says fits STANDARD blades only. Does that mean your typical street hockey blades?

I think it means non-tapered blades

I use both, doesn't make much difference. Standard blades have a thicker tenon so they only fit standard shafts; tapered blades go in tapered shafts. Pretty much all street hockey blades are standard.

Like the OP I use OPSs for ice and two pieces for roller.

is he talking about those plastic blades that fit OVER the end of the shaft? Those are crap, buy any ABS blade and those ARE standard

-You want a shaft from one brand, but a blade (curve, construction, whatever other reason) from another company, or just with abnormal spec (long hosel, whatever else).
-I guess maybe you break blades like crazy but never shafts?

Whether you're breaking blades or shafts 2-pieces will work out cheaper, as both blades and shafts are generally much cheaper than full OPS sticks. Check out the totalone for example:

Yeah, I should have left that one out. I was meaning more along the lines of "better," rather than better considering price or whatever. But yeah, that's definitely a consideration.

Hell, I mostly use a TPS one piece that I found with a broken blade at the rink, pulled the fused blade out, and put in a tapered blade, so what do I know.
