There will be nothing surprising or appalling about Pilut sitting his first game with the big club.

There was a time and place to be mad Pilut wasn't in our top 6, and that was coming out of training camp. At this point, standard operating procedure says he's here for emergencies and can work his way into the lineup with a good week of practice maybe. That's how the world works.

I'd sit him for the Blues game. They play a heavy game and they're going to come after him. Let him get up to NHL speed against another team.

Pilut, meanwhile, had zero points in six games after joining the Sabres earlier this month. He was recalled while Jake McCabe nursed an upper-body injury and had zero shots on goal in 13:58 Saturday night in Nashville. The assignment also allows Pilut to play in the AHL All-Star Classic, which will be held Jan. 26-27 in Ontario, Calif.

Because he hasn’t spent the token 12 years of showing his skills Bogo has.

Joke aside we have Dahlin on the powerplay and he has really improved compared to two years ago when Pilut was miles ahead.
Most of our d being pretty bad when it comes to positioning, suspect decision making, lack of help from forwards and respect for the opposition also comes into play.

Fine by me. Lazar has pretty clearly outplayed him. Not recalling another forward tells me that Skinner should be good to go on Tuesday. Leave Asplund there....I'm sure he'll get another bite at the apple.

Same. It's what should have happened, but the Sabres haven't exactly been setting the benchmark for competency, so I was a bit worried.

Pilut would be excelling on any other team. Same bs as with Antipin. How is a guy supposed to settle in and gain confidence when he’s constantly in and out of the lineup?
