We're pissing away chances to gain ground and it's frustrating

But last 4 games we gained ground... not gonna gain ground every game... Jesus this pissing and moaning is ridiculous after every single loss.,,we're not elite... we're a young improving team for the billionth time... we played very good tonight but wild is better... plain and simple we lost to a better more mature proven team... we didn't beat ourselves... they beat us...

We badly need two top 6 forwards. Boyes needs to get off Barkov and Hubys line and if Jussi doesn't get his crap together he needs to be replaced as well.
Boyes has had accuracy problems most of the year. He gets chances but is way off the mark.

Jokinen, Hayes, and Huberdeau were floating at times tonight. These guys need to be more assertive down the stretch. Hayes is inconsistent and the other two just don't shoot enough to score.

Kulikov going on IR, day-to-day or neither by some miracle.
O'Brien should be back up, and let's hope he can continue his solid play from the last call-up. First N/S is AMR from Grand Rapids to DFW that gets him in around 3:25 pm. No rest for the weary, but at least he can grab a few beers on the way to loosen up.

Gallant did say Mitchell is due back any time.

If they play their style against Dallas, they should be fine. Can't run and gun with them. Let's hope Montoya isn't too crushed by turning 30 and has a good game.
He gives up a lot of rebounds but seems to have a sixth sense on keeping them away from guys crashing the net. Let's hope it's skill and not luck.

team could have killed Bolland's penalty... but he's not out there to do It like normal... Bjugstad penalty was much worse...blaming bolland Is typicAL scapegoat **** though
No, it really wasn't. It was a weak call that Parise sold well. Refs countered by giving Vanek another weak hooking call minutes later.

What's typical about blaming Bolland when he takes a stupid offensive zone penalty? I would have blamed any player that did that you know, not just Bolland.

Well said, I think we should be fine vs Dallas. Suits us much more than playing against a stacked Minnesota Wild.

We barely got any offensive zone time because they played so well on D.

Dallas has no D so that should help us a lot.

Now I'm no Bolland Lover but those thing are going to happen if we want him to play the way he is most effective. There is a lot of give and take with the ratty type players. Sometimes their antics will get them in trouble but you just hope that it gets the other team gets into even more when they start retaliating.

I hate how I always get reminded of why this team won't make the playoffs. The refs literally handed the game to us with a double minor and a PP at the end of the game.

Instead of showing up, we took a dumb penalty to sabotage the double minor and we were no where to be seen at the end of the game.

I may be overreacting, games that should be won need to be won. Not squandered away and then make it up by beating 1st place teams. Because everyone else is cashing in on games like this, WE LOSE.

You can't really blame Barkov for a BS call like that especially when it was most likely made to offset the equally incorrect double minor in the first place. Not only did Barkov manage to touch the puck before the trip but he was also sliding on his belly across the ice. There was literally nothing he could do to stop from tripping Brodin.

That's not exactly true. We got a ton of good looks against Dubnyk, but in typical Panthers fashion, didn't convert. Boyess should have buried that, Bergy had multiple chances, Guds and Kulikov went with the classic miss the net so bad blasts that it gave MIN a few chances the other way. You know why Ekblad looks so damn good? His shots go on net. He doesn't slapshot every time, not a bunch of big wind-ups...he puts it low and on net. It's stupid how our other D-men don't get it. So, our forwards don't covert on their chances often enough, and our D....well, we have Ekblad.

This needs to change in the foreseeable or we'll be stuck in the purgatory desert.

O'Brien was/is awful. His Corsi was like -33 his last time up...which is so bad it's funny. probably why Kampfer and Petrovic got the call up instead of him.

also, your idea of a few beers probably isn't a good idea for a (former?) alchoholic. ;)

Still, the opportunity was there and instead of having puck control on the man advantage, they were too busy chasing.

You guys know they aren't going to win every game for the rest of the season, right?

Obviously, but that's not what you expect them to do anyway. The point is this was a winnable game and a night where Boston wasn't in action. We had no finishing ability last night.

Last nights loss has nothing to do with the Wild bring more experienced or mature. We need to stop with these dumb excuses. We have plenty of guys that are capable of scoring and setting up goals. Whenever we get close to closing in on a wildcard spot, we lose. That's why it's frustrating. Fortunately, we are back at it tonight and still have three games vs. Boston left.
