I came to realize by chance really that four of the best goalies of the last generation were all born in the same year; Patrick Roy, Ed Belfour, Dominik Hasek and Tom Barrasso were all born in 1965. I suppose this is just a coincidence but it still strikes me as quite amazing that between them they have eleven Vezina Trophies and six Stanley Cups and have at least 300 career wins each.

TCG had a post on his blog about this a few months back. Only one NHL goalie (Fuhr) born between 1951 and 1964 has made the Hall, then you have all the big names from 1965, then nobody else from 1966 to 1971 (unless Joseph makes it).

10/5/65 was one of the best days in hockey history as Patrick Roy AND Mario Lemieux were both born. This has got to be the biggest combo of 2 stars born on the EXACT same day.
