Glennie. Former 1st rounder for a reason, looked very good when it counted in the playoffs last year, and a 50/50 chance of cracking the lineup this season. He still has more upside that McKenzie for instance IMO.

Where have you gotten the idea that there's a 50% chnace of him playing in Dallas?

At some point this season he gets a call up more than likely, and I think he's got a 50/50 chance of sticking. More importantly than my percentage guess, he's got a WAY better chance of cracking the lineup, or anyone's NHL lineup this season than anyone left on the board....which I think should be one of the factors in the rankings.

I have no idea about the odds but considering he has to be in Dallas or on waivers, he's either going to be here in the press box with the occasional game or playing for some other team. So yeah the odds of him having some kind of NHL career seem extremely high.

Thought he said a two way deal on his new contract?

Two way pay. He has to clear waivers to play in the AHL and with his one year contract and relatively cheap NHL salary, 650k, someone is going to pick him up and try him on their NHL team. I'm looking at Calgary and Winnipeg specifically. Though Buffalo, Ottawa, Carolina and others including his former coach Willie in Vancouver would probably take a chance as well.

At this point I don't care if we lose Glennie. He's done very little to show that he can bring anything to help this team and bottom 6 players are dime a dozen.

I agree, but I also don't see the remaining prospects as proven to be anything higher than bottom-sixers or #6 dmen either yet...only difference is that Glennie is the closest to achieving that bottom-6 spot of anyone left.

I wish we were doing more than the top 20, I'd be curious to see how the 20-25ish prospects rank among fellow Stars fans.

I disagree. Think back to the absolute dregs we've dressed on the 4th line in the last half dozen years. Glennie fits our new system to a tee. He skates extremely well. He forechecks. These days he's able to hit and fight for the puck, plus occasionally drop the gloves to stick up for a teammate. Along with that he also has far better hands than most 4th line brutes so he can not only use his speed to create in transition but actually score or at least get the puck on net for rebounds.

Look I'm not ready to anoint him as a savior or try to claim his our solution for the 1st line RW spot. I am saying that he has way more to bring to the table than the average guy most teams field on their 4th line and that Dallas is doing itself a disservice if they don't at least see what he brings this pre-season and as an injury fill it at worst. I'm willing to wager that he's better than Eaves at this point too.

I don't think Glennie gets claimed to be honest. If he goes on waivers it'll be at the tail end of training camp when every team is waiving a player or two and it's very possibly that the sort of teams that have a spot for someone like Glennie will have some better options on the waiver wire, such as ones with NHL experience. There would have to be a team that really values whatever little top six potential he has left. If he goes on the waiver wire randomly midway through the season, then he definitely gets claimed.
