Yea, I much prefer to see the individual threads as stickies, not tucked away in a 'portal' where I can't see if there's been an updateJust out of curiosity - Why is there a need for this?
I feel like that's more of a hassle than the half second it takes to scroll past the stickiesHaving 9+ stickies permanently at the top of the forum is too much. It's a hassle to constantly have to scroll past all those to get to the threads that are actually active, especially when many of those stickies rarely have new posts.
Most of the time any updates to these threads will have their own stickied thread for a day (signings and trades), so the chances of you missing something are relatively slim.
You have to manually click on the thread, anyway, to see if the OP has been edited since that information isn't displayed at the forum level. If the one extra click is too much for you, you can simply bookmark the direct link.
People waste that "half second" thousands of times a day on this forum...after every single page refresh or reload. People do not check those links thousands of times a day. Even the few people who do check them daily probably don't check them more than once to see if anything new has been added.I feel like that's more of a hassle than the half second it takes to scroll past the stickies

Again, if it means that much to you personally, bookmark the page(s).
This isn't up for debate. This is bringing the forum back into compliance with an existing policy that covers all sub-forums on this site now that the season has started.
They don't want to click twice instead of once?that does nothing for the point people are bringing up
They don't want to click twice instead of once?
How does it have nothing to do with that?
The updates are done via edits to the OP, not by adding new posts to the thread. Most edits do not generate new replies.because it takes a lot more time to go in and click each of the individual threads to check if theyve been updated? not to mention they dont load right to the latest post?
doesnt that murder the point of saving time by doing this?

You can't tell when a post has been edited from the forum level, so you have to go to the OP to see if there are truly any updates, anyway.
If you're relying on new posts popping up in the thread to signify that something has happened, well, those threads will still pop to the top of the forum with every new post so you'll still see them there. You'll also see the stickied new threads marking each new significant signing and trade, etc.
You're not really losing anything by having this happen, outside of having to click twice to get to an OP instead of once (unless you use a bookmark).
I've always been lost as to why depth charts and lines are located in the Trade and Free Agents. When they could be almost anywhere else.huh other than the lines thread most get the tweets posted (waiver claims and free agent news etc) and then the op is edited?
they were easy to deal with and not have to look through 50 threads about the next big free agent
this whole concept seems pointless and all its doing is hiding like 5 lines of text that arent really in the way at all

Any major news gets stickied. You do not need these threads stickied as well for "updates" on free agent signings, prospect signings, trades, etc. Nor is the "Unsigned UFA" thread particularly relevant now that the season has started.
The waiver thread is a bit of a special case. Any major roster movement is noted via a waiver claims thread, but if you really want a sticky so you know instantly every time someone like Thorburn is waived (again), that's fine.
This is the main forum for most discussions related to roster construction and tracking, so that information is usually more relevant to the discussions and updates here than on most other main board forums.I've always been lost as to why depth charts and lines are located in the Trade and Free Agents. All five of you have certainly made your opinions known.idk what to tell you, i like to know when news gets posted to those threads and clearly other people who frequent the board do as well as shown by this thread
