Whoever gave Krug a second place vote should have their voting rights stripped.

As easy as it is to complain here, let's just all come to peace with the fact that the Norris is a completely useless award at this point.

I mean just take a look:

Player|Season|Points|1|2|3|4|5
Doughty|2015-16|1254|93|37|10|4|3
Doughty|2016-17|51|0|0|1|10|16

Now sure, LA and Doughty were worse this year, but Doughty's play did not ****ing nose-dive at 90 degrees, okay? He was still a very comparable defenseman this year than he was last.

The voters gave him a trophy last year, and the voters gave Burns one this year. It has nothing to do with performance, it's all about narrative. Oh and 2 people left Karlsson off their ballot entirely in an effort to make sure he didn't win again, 7 others left him out of the top 3.

Congrats to Hedman on his 2017-18 Norris, because that's just about a lock at this point unless he gets hurt.

It was a toss up, Burns outplaying karlsson for the 1st half, then vice versa. Slightly surprised though.

I don't understand why writers who know as much as HFboards posters get to vote on these legacy defining awards. :shakehead

Hockey journalism is bottom of the barrel. Far too man people voting on these awards.

With that said congrats to Burns, he had a tremendous season.

Lmao. Didn't take you long. Let 2015-16 go already, this isn't healthy.
You call the Norris a useless award, and than go on to complain that Doughty & Burns won and Karlsson didn't, because....you know....it's a useless award.

Don't voters 'give' every award??

I'm sorry all your hard work went for not, but Burns won and deserved it. Now you can get back to tracking what lines Burns is deployed against while he shines his Norris.

Meh. We all know who the best defenseman really is.

Hell of a show by Burns for the first 3/4 of the year.

Burns scored 27 goals in his first 59 games and carried an injury ridden Sharks team to the playoffs

He was the best defenseman in the NHL this year
