They don’t have winger help to support along the boards and rely on icing, stretch passes, or Kevin Hayes dangerously stickhandling right up through the slot to get the puck out of the zone. It’s resulting in getting massacred in shots every game.

That is definitely a systemic flaw that the FO must see as good strategy, which is troublesome (he understated). But what makes me want to gouge out my eyes is when the players are absolutely incapable of making or receiving even 5' passes, stumbling around with the puck in their feet, or otherwise coughing it right back up after gaining possession in their own zone. The Flyers must also be among the worst Dzone puck-tracking teams in the league. They are the anti-Gretzkys.

It is depressing that we can neither point to players failing to execute a good strategy nor players making great individual plays within a flawed system. It really is the blind leading the blind right now.
