Hits from behind don't really seem to matter to the NHL. They happen dozens of times a night and never get called, even though it is technically in the rules.
There wasn't contact to the head. You can rule that out.
Charging? Eh. Didn't take the four steps required to meet that distinction.
Only thing against him is jumping into the hit. Might get a small fine for that.
Ericsson sucker-punching him twice? He got the penalty and the cut, that's probably what he deserves for that.
