Tanev would fit well with that team going forward. We won't be very good for atleast a couple years maybe more so it would be a waste to not try and capitalize on an Asset like Tanev.

Yup, no brainer. They would love 1rst round picks and are going to have like 10 #4 D. Unless it is an expansion avoidance trade it makes little sense for anything to happen until after the expansion draft.

Would be hard to see a deal agreed upon though.

Most Canucks fans are Balking at 17+Kapanen and so Tampa would need to start at 14+Raddysh/Stephens. Which Canuck fans will ask for more or ask for Drouin, which I am not sure Tampa will do.

I dont even know if this is far fetched or if value is off but maybe something starting out like:

Tanev+4th for #14+Stephens+Joseph

IMHO I wouldn't do that. Tanev is a legitimate top pairing guy, not just a top 4 guy. If he's on the market there will be a small bidding war.

Perhaps 14OA + Raddysh + Garrison.

Second rounders in this draft aren't nearly enough, at least not enough to make it worthwhile to let go of Tanev. He has an NTC that kicks in July 1, but it only allows him to exclude 8 teams. So theoretically they could wait until the 2018 trade deadline as well.
