[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

It was good, fun to play back in a game and be a part of it again. It’s unfortunate that we come out on the other end of it but it was good to be back in it. I was OK tonight.
Some game decisions were a little slow. At times I was sharp, at times, it was just alright. I was actually surprised, there were times when I made the quick play and the patient play.
I was happy with what my expectations were but I was just excited to get back out there.
- Derek Stepan

Back and forth, exchanging chances, this was the exact kind of game we said we didn’t want to play.
We were supposed to play a tight game but instead we gave them the puck too many times.
- Mats Zuccarello

I think at the end of the day we need a better commitment to playing a solid two-way game.
Offensively we were getting some good looks, but we need to tighten up things defensively and a lot of that starts with our forwards getting available a bit better and on the right side of the play.
On their gwg, if you look at the final picture, they almost got a 4 on 0 on our goaltender. Some people missing there.
- Alain Vigneault

Just win. Can't drop this game vs. the Oilers (especially a Hall-less Oilers team).

My expectations were obviously artificially high for the Leafs game.
I have adjusted them accordingly for this evening's festivities.
Of course, I could be trending in the wrong direction....wouldn't be the first time.

Would prefer not to lose to the Leafs and a junior team in 24 hours kthx.

The Leafs aren't some pushover, it was actually a bad matchup for us with their offense against our decimated D + Talbot.

The Leafs have a quickstrike offense. Their D is bad, but their offense is not.
