For an overager pick, this is pretty brutal. He probably would've been there in the 7th.

Defensive dman who hits. Overager at the age of 20.

Sounds like a so so pick but we can't ask for much at this stage in the draft. Seems like his game is built for the NHL though. Safe pick .

Hah, we picked a guy going through his third draft. Couldn't have signed him as a free agent, or something?

Well, a Guy who played for Sweden at the WJC-20 can't be really bad, right? So I am not sure that is really a bad pick. We will see. But yeah I would personally prefer the swedish Sebastian Aho

Rodrigo Abols style throwaway?

even as a defensive dman, 3 points combined in competition this year? don't know how his game will even remotely translate.

At least there is a comparable as the Islanders take Swedish Sebastian Aho right after.

On Sebastian:

"This Aho is a mobile defender who is making a major impact in the Swedish Hockey League. Despite being undrafted, and in his own words “not contacted by any teams about a contract or even a tryout” Aho has made major strides towards being a top defender.

As a 21-year old playing for SkellefteÃ¥ AIK, he would finish second in the SHL for goals by a defenceman, with ten. That's just one behind former Habs prospect Magnus Nygren. In terms of overall points he finished third in the league, one point behind Nygren and nine behind Frolunda’s Hennrik Tommernes, while playing nearly three fewer minutes per game."

Easy to be a keyboard warrior.. and I have absolutely NO idea. But, the ink certainly says if Swedish d-man was the target... we missed.
