All right folks, give me two players, be it on O, D or the backstops that you think are the key players for NJD to succeed and make the playoffs this season. Also, throw in your point predictions for the season.
Key players are Zajac and Henrique.
Zajac: Two years since his injury so I expect him to get back to 60pts and solid two way play plus good face-off percentage. With no old #17 around, if he can get some chemistry with some more meat and potatoes type wingers, he should be back to form. If he doesn't, NJ could be looking for a center at the deadline if they are in the hunt.
Henrique: A year has passed by since his injury, let's hope we got lucky and his sophomore slump happened during a shortened season and he's ready to get back to the promise he showed two seasons ago. If he he's back on track, at centre or wing, 60pts should not be out of the question.
These two players back to form would go a long way to formulating two, maybe three solid scoring lines.
(My predictions based on if they play for NJ for most of the season; not accounting for injuries, demotions or trades)
Player - Gs - As - Pts
Elias - 28 - 42 - 70pts
Zajac - 22 - 40 - 62pts
Jagr - 27 - 30 - 57pts
Henrique - 27 - 27 - 54pts
Clowe - 17 - 25 - 42pts
Brunner - 24 - 18 - 42pts
Ryder - 27 - 11 - 38pts

Loktionov - 13 - 11 - 24pts
Bernier - 12 - 11 - 23pts
Greene - 4 - 18 - 22pts
Tedenby - 9 - 8 - 17pts
Fayne - 3 - 13 - 16pts
Olesz - 8 - 8 - 16pts
Gionta - 4 - 9 - 13pts
Carter - 4 - 5 - 9pts
Salvador - 0 - 9 - 9pts
Harrold - 1 - 5 - 6pts
Volchenkov - 0 - 5 - 5pts
Urbom - 2 - 5 - 7pts
Brodeur - 0 - 4 - 4pts
Schneider - 0 - 1- 1pts
I know this totals out to 269 (3.28 GPGA) which is insanely optimistic but it's not a team scoring prediction but individual players playing most, if not the whole season in NJ. Just have fun with it
