Although silver lining 4/6 in California is 4 better than expected.

We've been getting wins since the Rangers game, that's all good. We just can't be satisfied with that, lose focus, and stop now. We've got 3 days to prepare for Ottawa at home. Go get that one, and let's keep collecting points.

Drouin was Dynamic. Coop free'd him and he was the best player on the ice. A few turnovers, but 91 does it all the time.

Now all he needs to do is free Stamkos. Wasting prime years trying to get him to be a 2-way player. Let his insticts fly.

Couldn't watch the game but seems like Killorn-Filppula-Stamkos was in form with them all being -3. Oh well, 4 points were a lot better than I expected. At least I can watch games again as they don't start after 5am.

Goodbye playoffs, this team cannot string wins together.

Prepare for a blowout against Ottawa.

I'm not really worried about it, DFC. We dress 7 D almost half the time we play and DeAngelo can play sheltered minutes as a power play specialist. The young man can not possibly be worse than Sustr when he sees regular time on ice.

Not one single player can save the PP, especially not a rookie with no experience.

From that alone, if Coop has that top line together again he should have that extension revoked. Vasy may have let a softy in but the line had brutal turnovers so it was fitting for them. As per the PP, Cooper does not have a clue at this point. There is so much talent on this team not to have like a 20 to 25% PP.

As much as I like Flip, the overkill of his mins, especially the PP, needs to stop, at least Coop saw how bad Killorn was and cut his mins, he only played 12 mins last night. Johnson did not look good, he is not 100 percent. Stamkos...........LOL. I mean they got some lucky breaks, LA going off sides on that brutal turnover, oh and the empty netter hitting the post. I mean it was set up for a -5 night for that top line and Stamkos. They had luck on their side that they did not have an even worse night.

Flip and Killorn should not be on the top line, Kucherov and Johnson don't have the chemistry anymore, so you need to put Kucherov and Stamkos together. It's the only time they actually looked dangerous, but had more faith in Drouin and Kucherov on that line to get it done.

I thought Stamkos played one of his best games of the season on Sat, blocking shots, protecting the lead and showing he gives a crap, only got an assist but I am more impressed with the sacrifice to help this team win, that is playing with heart. Then last night goes back to invisible mode.

So I just saw this:

"1:10 of a 5-on-3 and 57 seconds of a 4-on-3 advantage in the second period in which Tampa Bay failed to register a shot on goal."

Missed the game, but that's hilariously awful.

I was sleeping through this game though it didn't look like I missed much anyway. Sucks for Vasy to get pulled even if there was a reason why, and with our schedule the way it is, with so many days of between games you need to have Bishop play those since you can't have him not play for over a week but then you have a b2b and you're playing a cold backup who also haven't played in over a week it's tough, it's better when you play every other night so both goalies gets games with the same amount of rest.

Sounds like the PP is still the same but I'm not really surprised about it anymore.

Oh, and nice goal by Boyle, and sounds like Drouin was playing well which is also great, glad to see the kid back and that he keeps growing.

I turned off the game and went to bed right after that!

Worst game of Vasi's pro career, 2 soft short sided goals. He is young, this is to be expected. In fact he I expected more of these already, so he is well on his way developmentally. How he bounces back from this will also be telling, but so far no real reason for concern.

Fire Brad Lauer now. Our PP is simply unacceptable. It looks like the plan is through talent on the ice and let them figure it out. They have no real plan on how they are attacking the opponent or what they are even doing.

Sadly, you can't really wrap up how bad it was with stats. This night of PPs was basically an exclamation point on the problem that's been hounding this team for about a half decade.

Personally I don't blame Vasy at all for the 2nd goal. The stick blocked his view of the puck and the Kings got lucky. Not Vasy's fault. Just a weird play. I don't see how that's a soft goal when it was impossible for Vasy to track the puck.

Vasy should probably go to Syracuse. Kristers has had more developmental time. I think we can afford to have him sitting half the year on the bench.

And again, Lauer isn't actually in charge of our PP. It's Cooper. At least according to everything that's been written about it.

What does Lauer do? Serious question haha if he's not helping the pp then why hire him? Everyone knew our pp needed help since last year, so they said they hired Lauer. Plus his track record was awful I'm Anaheim.

He's doing whatever the guy in his position last year (the college coach whose name escapes me) was doing. Everyone just kind of assumed he was coming in for the PP because the PP sucked. But Yzerman was quick to shoot that theory down. Somehow, no one paid attention to that part.

Ahh yeah I missed that part apparently. Well the pp needs help and you would think with Yzerman being the genius he is would figure that out.

4/6 points on this tough road trip is pretty good. I'm sick and tired of this barely above .500 inconsistent team tho. Winning one game then losing two then winning two and losing one, its not helping them out when everyone else in their division is going on 5-7 game win streaks, or winning 7/10 games while Tampa wins 4.

Agreed. As much as Coop deserves blame for this, so does Yzerman. For not stepping in (some way, somehow). So do the players. No one's faultless in that mess.

Is Lauer ever on the bench? I never see him?

No. He's part of the staff, but not on the bench. And he's not in charge of the PP. That myth should die. Unless there's a statement to the contrary out there I'm unaware of (always a possibility).
