So damn excited. I mean the bad news is our first game is against Tampa lol... But should be fun still.

Tampa owns us at their building.
I'm not expecting a win but maybe they can at least play well for parts of the game and have something to build on.

I hope the first period starts like they want to be there, too many times I watched games where they just sleep walked in the 1st and were down by 3

It's been such a good year so far. Been a fan since the mid seventies and I'm seeing changes in this organization that I've never thought would happen.

As far as I'm concerned as a fan Hextall has the rebuild/retool in overdrive and we're on house money. None the less can't wait to see what's in store this coming season.

Go Flyers!

I think that six day break after the first four games is going to be really interesting.

While Tampa is a far superior squad and probably blood-thirsty after losing in the Finals last season, all bets are off for the first game of a new season.

Should be a fun game, but I don't expect the Flyers to fully show the effects of Hakstols influence until a quarter of the way, or even halfway through the season.

Schenn seems to be with Laughton & Read is back with Couturier.

Was really hoping they would leave Cout & Schenn together :/

I wonder if that means BSchenn is back to RW:

Maybe trying to give the 3rd line a little bit more pop?

Ugh.

Hopefully the increased ozone starts for Coots and Read make them more effective.

Hopefully. Watching him tear down the RW, past the defensemen, and swoop in front of the net on his backhand before tucking it in flying the air against the Isles in preseason was one of the best plays I have ever seen him make.

They're going to be really interesting to watch until we have a good feel for how the new lines and players look and how Hakstol appears. So I'm more curious than anything else, aside from excited that it's finally here.

I have classes from 5 to 10:30 though =/, gonna be hard to avoid the score for a full day when I have fantasy hockey stuff to check on.

According to Meltzer, Hak is still likely to start 10 with 14 and 24 with 21, despite lines at practice today.

Also according to Bill M, Raffl will be on the top PP and B. Schenn is moved to the 2nd PP.

This will be a big season for Raffl. Top line & top PP.

Raffl gets a lot of unwarranted hate from some posters. He isn't ever going to be a top point producer but he has definitely earned his right to attempt to secure a spot on the top PP. I'm not a huge believer in stacking the top line and firmly believe spreading out talent serves a team better overall. If he receives decent PP time I don't think it is that unlikely he walks away this year with something like ~25 goals/~20 assists.

If that's what they have in mind for him then Hextall should already have an extension ready to go. Don't wait till he actually puts up those points and is too expensive to re-sign.
