While there were some good things offensively, and Vasy played well given they hung him out to dry yet again, the defense is nowhere near good enough. That is now 25 out of 40 games where they have allowed 3 or more, and 13 giving up 4 or more. Need to add 1 more dman and at least 1 more solid bottom 6 defensive forward. 2 points is great, but many things need to be improved, and they are basically at the halfway point, so improvement with overall team defense needs to start soon.

Team needs to tighten up. Playing loose makes bad habits. Need to clean these types of games up in the tlnext 15-20 down the stretch.

This team plays exactly like my beer league team. Last night we went up against a team with 1 sub, had a 5-2 lead with 10 minutes left. We absolutely f***ed around, defensemen pinching, forwards leaving the zone early, I even took a completely undisciplined slashing penalty with 2 minutes left. We barely hung on to a 5-4 win.

The best part of the team basically choosing to forgo any defense and instead just lob meatballs at stamkos to get him his 500th at home is that it gave Canucks fans the impression that they were in the game at all and that the punch ruined their chances at a comeback.
