No, it's just that Boyle isn't that great of a player. He can provide offense now and then, but he's absolutely atrocious in his own zone. He's literally the same player as he was last year.

This is crazy with the Dmen we're fielding. I'm very confident with our forwards but our play is being weighed down by all of the plodders and bad puckhandlers we have on defense. Staal, Girardi, and an ancient Dan Boyle are not guys you want having to back a fast front line with players like Brassard and Kreider. Yandle IMO is our 2nd best Dman at this point and he really shouldn't be because he's top-heavy with offensive.
