- Reinhart most of the night, moved all over the lineup and got whatever line he was on going.
- Sabres showed up for the third period.
- Eichel's first goal.
- Risto's third period rush seemed to bring the team to life.


The Bad -
- Sluggish start and a lack of energy for two periods.
- Faceoffs.
- Passing early.

The Ugly -
- Injury to Lehner.
- The emotion of having a tying goal disallowed.
- Franson.

Larsson was an absolute beast.

4th line also looked good.

After Eichel scored it was like he just went "oh ok" and started dangling guys and creating. It was magical.

The Ugly: The review process and allowing it to be used for an off-sides call.

That is going to have to change. You can't be reviewing off-sides in my opinion.

What happens when a goal is scored after the play is in the O zone for 1 minute...you then challenge to say off-sides.

SO now what? The last minute of the game is negated and you go "back in time" a solid minute to where the game was 1 minute ago?

Hockey is not an episodic game like baseball or football. It is about flow.

This is a HORRENDOUS idea.

Ugly: Even tho it was probably the right call..having that called back was absolute ass. Process sucks. Had no bearing on the play..at all.

The first PP unit was awful. Franson's decision making was not good and with Ennis as the only real puck carrier teams can defend the entry too easily. They have to let ROR lead the rush sometimes. Getting Reinhart on that unit could help as well.

Yeah, I'm already ready for O'Reilly to go full checking C with Larsson and whoever, while Moulson and Ennis play sheltered offensive minutes when Eichel is tired.

I'm pro getting the call right, and anti flow-breaking review process. There has to be another solution.

Instantaneous off-premises review with absolute authority that starts after every goal.

I'll give credit to the Sens. They played a classic "sleeper hold" road game on the Sabres. It felt like as long as they had the one goal lead they weren't going to push, but take what was given to them.

It took a third period push and the crowd coming alive to rattle the Sens and they survived cause they had a goal to give and a lucky break on a tight offside call with the new review system.

Eichel getting the first today does wonders. It'll make things easier for him going forward.


BTW, Lehner was solid after the first goal. And i don't think Lehner was too much at fault on it either. I REALLY think people need to get over that trade. I was not too thrilled with the cynical cheer after your goalie leaves the game with a gimp knee.

I was a lot more anxious with Johnson in Net. his rebound control was dicey. But to be fair, he was thrown in without any prep.

This team needs BOGO back soon. The Defense is thin as it is. It's worse when you think of injuries putting Weber and FRanson in your top 4. Pysyk was terribly sloppy.

Ennis and ROR have no chemistry
Moulson is always frustrating
Entire defense, including much of Risto's game
Weber-Franson, but especially Weber. He is awful.

Coaches challenges are the worst. What a bad idea.

Larsson Reinhart and Legwand were by far the three best forwards in the first 40 minutes. Kane and Eichel were great in the final 20.

Moulson-RoR-Ennis doesn't work and downright killed the flow of the game when they were out.

Risto was absolutely horri-bad on Ottawa's second tally.
