[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

It’s going to sting. We’ve got a long couple days here before we get another crack at it.
- Ryan McDonagh

I can’t explain it. It’s just things going wrong extremely fast.
It happened Friday too after a goal, we give up a few big scoring chances right away.
It’s disappointing personally, coming in like this and not being able to come up with saves.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We came to play, and unfortunately in that short span there, we made a couple of mistakes that ended up in our net.
- Alain Vigneault

Just have a defenseman stand infront of Hank and push away Dallas players that get close. Is it so hard?

This D keeps giving up high danger chances ALL damn game. They are hanging Hank out to dry.

Our goalies confidence is shattered, and this is what the team can do to rally around him? Im ****ing appaled at this D corps

AND WTF WAS THAT AGAIN. 3 move away from the puck and leave the players WIDE OPEN WITH HANK.

**** this D. Seriously wtf is even going on

When you make a player the highest paid in his position in the entire league, you expect him to be around the top of major statistical categories at the end of the year. I don't understand why the arguments are about shot difficulty, chances, mistakes, etc. Goalies on other teams have to deal with them also.

I mean, players like Ovechkin or Crosby aren't judged on weather they score on their easy chances and avoid making errors. They are expected to lead the league in various scoring categories, so people apply a different standard to them than some average second liner. Why would Henrik be different?

This board doesn't have a problem grasping this concept with Nash. He's expected to produce more due to his cap hit, so the standard isn't whether he avoids making mistakes and puts away empty net chances. Nash is expected to outproduce and outplay guys with lower cap hits. We don't have a bunch of people justifying his play by describing the high quality of opposing defenses, blaming his center, our poor outlet passes or comparing his output to some average forwards.

And yet a group of posters refuses to apply a similar standard to Henrik. It isn't about which goal was his fault or the quality of chances. It's about comparing his play to other goalies who are starters. He simply has to be putting up better numbers than the vast majority of them after getting that contract.

Very true but slowly there wont be any excuses left to make. You can blame the D all you want but some goals are 100% goalie and its happening every game now.

Also LOL Girardi.
