Just wait until you aren't as good as hockey. I'm sure they will be nicer to you than they were to Girardi, Staal or McD

People talk about Fox like his decision to demand the trades is directly responsible for his success. No, he is just one of the best f***ing defensemen in the NHL and most of the salt here is from people who are jealous that he chose NY.

For every Adam Fox there is also a Tim Erixon. If you don't have the talent, work ethic and drive to be one of the best, it doesn't matter where you land. You won't be successful.

Nobody is saying he isn't good or elite.

But you can be a really good player and an entitled POS and human garbage at the same time.

I read the first paragraph "playing for my hometown team", no your hometown team is the Islanders, I get it alot of people on Long Island grow up Ranger fans because it is alot cooler to root for the city team or your parents are Ranger fans, but him saying the Rangers are his hometown team shows he is full of garbage

5 years from now when the Rangers enter another rebuild/re-tool it's gonna be hilarious when Fox is traded to Calgary.

Fox is overrated. Won't win a cup during his carreer. You can't win with big heads like that. Even the Devils will win a Cup again before Fox. I now understand why De Angelo was mad in this locker room with such big moron like that. Not to mention that Fox has a truly punchable face.

I did multiple times, bud. People are in here acting like he’s some trust fund brat who never had to work for anything. Anyone who thinks he comes across as entitled is psychotic, a Flames fan, or both.

No, you didn’t. All you’ve done is question what other people have said about him.

I’m not going to sit here and dox this guy’s family to make a point, but there’s a lot of information available if you know where to look. They are pretty clearly an affluent family. Not “rich”, but probably upper 5th percentile for wealth.

He only cared about getting a college education and progressing his game when he was in the Calgary and Carolina organizations.

His family had season tickets to the Rangers and Harvard doesn't offer athletic scholarships.
Because playing in the NHL is a privilege and there's a thousand other kids who would've been ecstatic to be drafted by the Flames let alone any NHL team. By skirting a team you're basically saying you think your better than that team, the league and everyone whos played before you.
I have no idea about Fox's family wealth, but I had a Rangers season ticket plan when I was making $45k a year. And Harvard doesn't offer athletic "scholarships" but you're kidding yourself if you think they don't put together generous financial aid packages for star athletes.

Lol this is untrue. The Rangers had a presence on LI way before the Islanders and there are more Ranger fans on LI than Islander fans.

Newsflash: they both share the same territory, therefore being a fan of either team makes you a fan of a hometown team.

Yeah Deangelo the guy who has been kicked out of three organizations and fined multiple times for using slurs in minors was actually pissed at the true locker room cancer which was Fox.

Ok, well I disagree. I think the analogy of holding the worst off "accountable" is sold and that expecting that to lead to anything but the same results is laughable.

Except these are billionaires owning corporations that are at worst worth hundreds of millions of dollars and they receive tens of millions of dollars in revenue sharing to pay their operating income and, in most cases, public funding for infrastructure supporting their for profit venture. These are investments that are propped up by other investments. It's a horrible horrible analogy. Being a shitty organization is a fiscal choice.

This is just very bad take. By your logic Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk should all be Met fans, they cant be Yankee fans. Maybe you should tell all those Yankee fans their full of garbage as well. As for being cooler, wouldn’t have been cooler for his father to give up being a Rangers fan to become an Islander in the 80’s when they won 4 cups? You don’t have a clue what your talking about as the Rangers have Junior programs on LI (both Nassau and Suffolk) and across the Tristate area. Also it was really trendy to root for the Rangers during the Dark ages 97-04, everyone was jumping on that bandwagon.

I feel the exact opposite. I much prefer the European system where players get to sign where they want. I really don't like the whole draft system. Way cooler to let people play where they actually want to play, builds true loyalty and increases passion. The whole salary capped franchise system is just so lame and only serves the owners making money off of it.
Players have that right when they reach UFA status. I just don't like it. Yes, I'm an Isles fan, but a hockey fan first. I am a NY Giants fan, but have no respect and can't stand Eli Manning for what he did. Saying that, I sure enjoyed 2 Super Bowl wins. Fox is an immense talent

The amount of crying and whining in this thread is incredible. So, what did Fox do? Did he put an opponent on a stretcher? Did he lick someone in the face? Nope, he put up an article on a news site that he loves New York. This is hilarious. The hatred is off the charts from some - or more like most - of you in here. Grow up.
