One of my favorite stories, I think Chara was 18 or 19, shows up hours early to practice, no players or coaches were there. But PR people were there stuffing envelopes with season ticket info to be sent out to fans. He sat down with them and stuffed envelopes with them. That is work ethic my friends. Loved Chara from that moment on.
As with others, never thought he’d become a Hall of Famer, not even an NHL All Star. Losing Spezza in the Yashin trade pissed me off more than losing Chara at the time.
