He missed his senior year of high school hockey due to a (football related?) knee injury. Then he missed either the following or next year of college hockey due to another knee injury. Missed two vital years of development. Budish fell in the draft because of his knee injury and Poile saw a chance to get a bargain. Sometimes that works (see Erat), other times it doesn't. Although the scouting report on Budish wasn't necessarily the best either regardless of his injury. Looks like a bust.
