With what's currently on the roster

Kreider-Zibanejad-Spooner
Buchnevich-Hayes-Fast
Namestnikov-Chytil-Zuccarello
Vesey-Howden-Lettieri

Smith-Shattenkirk
Skjei-ADA
Claesson-Pionk/McQuaid

McLeod did enough in preseason to earn being the 13th forward right now. Staal did enough in preseason to freeze in the 9th circle of Hell.

I would also explore shifting Lettieri with Hayes and Buch because he shoots everything, bumping Fast down to 3, and Namestnikov down to 4.

I think the social media posts are pushing KZB. I'm thinking that picture of the three of them was engineered. I would be very surprised if they don't at least start with that. Its something they can market thats actually good.

Based on Gorton's comments in this week's town hall, Chytil will not be on 4th line but Howden probably will.

Should be

KZB
Namestnikov-Chytil-Zucc
Spooner-Hayes-Fast
Vesey-Howden-Lettieri

KZB-obviously

NCZ-Zucc and Namestnikov are good defensively, they cover for Chytil. Let Chytil just focus on his offense. Namestnikov fits perfectly with them as well, could be the “Kreider” on the line that does the small things to set up Chytil and Zucc (2nd and 3rd lines get pretty much equal time)

SHF-Spooner and Hayes have developed some decent chemistry. Fast again in the 3rd wheel just doing small things for this line. Spooner as the set up guy and Hayes and Fast scoring. Hayes and Fast also cover for Spooner defensively and let Spooner focus on offense

VHL-Howden as the defensive playmaker, Vesey as a net front guy (if im Quinn I tell Vesey to just park in front of the net don’t do anything else with the puck) Lettieri as another shooter with energy

While the KZB line and Hayes’s line will likely take around or slightly above 17 minutes a night, I don’t see them having minute-eating deployments. There ought to be plenty of space for Chytil and Howden’s lines to get 12-14 minutes a night, which isn’t bad at all for players at that age.
