Quite easy for Latvia, with only 27 guys drafted since 2000.

1) 2012 - Girgensons, Blueger
2) 2014 - Merzlikins (+ E.Kulda, who never made it to the NHL)
3) 2006 - Daugavins, Kulda
4) 2015 - Balcers (+ Dzierkals, Cukste)
5) 2022 - 3 mid-to-late round picks yet to hopefully make an impact (Vilmanis, Locmelis, Veinbergs)

Germany:
1. 2001 (Ehrhoff, Seidenberg, Goc, Schubert)

2. 2020 (Stützle, Peterka, Reichel)

3. 2014 (Draisaitl)

4. 2019 (Seider)

5. 2010 (Grubauer, Kühnhackl)

Despite Draisaitl beeing the best individual, German player, I put 2001 and 2020 before 2014, because both drafts produced 3-4 NHL-players, who stayed in the league for a longer period. Ehrhoff and Seidenberg as well as Stützle and Peterka were/are really important to their team.

We really haven't had a good draft in the 2000s. Some looked promising but bust after bust.

Jiricek and Kulich draft should be big for us. Spacek, Alscher and Hamara in this group.

Necas, Chytil and Patera.

Zacha, vlejmelka, vladar and simon

Pasta, Vrana, Vanecek and o. Kase

Gudas and Mrazek (come to Prague boys!)

Not much to brag about. A good draft is 1 NHL players. A great draft is 2 NHL players.lol

For Sweden I think it is 2011:

Gabe Landeskog
Adam Larsson
Mika Zibanejad
Jonas Brodin
Rickard Rakell
William Karlsson

HM: Oscar Klefbom who was very promising before injury

I kind of like 1994 as well:

Alfredsson, Öhlund, Holmström, Modin, Johnsson, Tärnström, Ekman, Hedberg…

2009 is also pretty stacked with Hedman, OEL, Ekholm, Lehner, then Krüger, Silfverberg and Marcus Johansson.

It’s also interesting that for as bad as the 1999 draft was overall, the top 3 scorers are the Sedin twins and Zetterberg, who likely will join them in the HHoF.

Edit: Oops, missed that we were only looking at 2000 onwards

Are these in order or chronological?

The reason I ask : I assumed 2016 would be #1.

Bratislava, Slovakia
Slovakia

1. 2022
1st overall and 2nd overall picks in Slaf & Nemec + most drafted (6) players since 2005.

2. 2000
Marian Gaborik, Lubomir Visnovsky, Tomas Kopecky, Marcel Hossa
16 players drafted

3. 2023
2 first rounders including #10 Dvorsky, 3 second rounders and the most players drafted (8) since 2022!

4 and 5 would probly be 2004 & 2001, where we had over 10 drafted players each, but only real notable player would be Sekera, Meszaros and Budaj

It sounds crazy, but despite Slovakia going 1st and 2nd overall in 2022, it might not be our best draft in the history - 2000 is close.

2015 is pretty good for Finland with Rantanen, Aho and Hintz.

Mikkola is good too, Nutivaara as well before he had to retire due injuries.

2017 is good too with Heiskanen, Välimäki,, Vaakanainen, Tolvanen and Jokiharju. Luostarinen and Luukkonen too.

I'd definitely think about putting 2015 over 2011 and 2019 (thus far):

Eichel
Connor
Werenski
Hanifin
Boeser
Terry
