That's right! I forgot about that.
Easily worth paying $10M for a guy that'll bring you so many 1st OAs.

1 All the new europeans stick, Nygård, Haas, Persson is playing opening night.
Nygård is the most succesful of those.

2 Benning is redeeming himself a bit

3 Neal bounces back, to 26 goals. You can´t ask for more for this sort of player, and where in his career he is.

4 Archibald looks really good as a energyful PK and bottom 6 player.

5 Persson is getting much PP time, leading defence in PP points. (Nurse is leading in total points)

Aaand

6 Haas haas a good fighting spirit that is good, and been missed for the oilers

1) Bear and Manning make the team ahead of Perrson and Jones. Bear as the right side partner with Klefbom and Manning as the press box popcorn guy as Holland would rather his young guys playing big minutes and big roles in the minors as opposed to Chiarelli who had no problem with 19 year olds watching dozens of games from the rafters.

2) Smith and Koskinen form an unexpected but very respectable 1-1A tandem much like Lehner and Greiss did for the NYI last year.

3) Benson is a late cut but is called up when injuries hit and sticks playing the left side with RNH and Neal.

4) Tippetts coaching along with an improved bottom 6 and healthier defence combined with not allowing the first goal on the first shot of the game 17 times reduces goals against by 40 and goals for increase by 40.

5) Oilers take a wild card spot in the playoffs as the “surprise” team in the NHL.

6) Bonus prediction! Calgary falters when Tkachuk holds out till Dec 1 and returns to hatred in the dressing room from his team mates, First Shot Talbot continues to let in the first shot of the game and Rittich does his annual late season bed shit, Giordanos contract with the Devil expired over the summer and he looks like every other 36 year old defenceman in the NHL, all the Flames players who had career bests last year fall back to their average, Johnny Hobbit gets crushed by (insert LA King name here) and misses 40 games - Lucic does nothing, the idea of Lucic on the 3rd line doesn’t pan out quite the way the Flames thought it would and he’s a pressbox regular by Game 60 and voices his dissatisfaction daily in the dressing room as Zac Rinaldo takes his place on the 4th line, Peters is fired as the Flames hit a 15 game winless streak mid season, Flames miss the playoffs in a tiebreaker - with Edmonton.

The West must be really weak if we make the playoffs with the last wildcard spot AND it was via a tiebreaker with the Flames after they've suffered a 15 game winless streak lol
