As for Wings retired numbers, I woud go as follows; parenthesis are for numbers I would keep "out of circulation" that are not officially retired.

1 Sawchuk
(2 Fischer)
4 Kelly
5 Lidstrom
6 Aurie
7 Lindsay
7 Sillinger
9 Howe
10 Delvecchio
12 Abel
12 Sillinger
15 Sillinger
(16 Konstantinov)
19 Yzerman
21 Sillinger
23 Sillinger
30 Osgood
91 Fedorov

I would nix the Sllngers of course, im torn on Feds, I would retire Valddy's and Kelly's numbers and keep Jiri's out of circulation , and Ozzie if he makes the hall I'm not sure what to do with it... I don't think it belongs. Shanny gets his retired if he helps us to a cup this year through some strategic suspensions.

I'm not too sure about the pre-Gretzky era Kings, but from the Gretzky era on, I can think of a couple players who deserve it:

4 Rob Blake - This one would be controversial since he is hated by many Kings fans.
9 Bernie Nichols
11 Charlie Simmer - This one I'm not sure they would until Kopitar is done in LA. I don't see them taking away their star's number. But Charlie Simmer deserves it as being the third member of the Triple Crown Line.
17 Jari Kurri
32 Kelly Hrudey

In the future I'm fairly certain they will retire:
8 Drew Doughty
11 Anze Kopitar

So much more of a useful defense man than #52, too bad what occurred with him.

Washington Capitals

#37 Olaf Kolzig
#12 Peter Bondra

Bondra is likely going to be our greatest franchise scorer for a couple more years til Ovechkin REALLY peters out, and Kolzig was our first ever franchise goalie that gave us his entire career. Why they haven't been retired is beyond me.

Maybes:
#20 Michal Pivonka - Played entire career in Washington, leads franchise in assists and has a fun name to say.

#6 Calle Johansson - Played almost his entire career in Washington and was a fan favorite over the course of his time here. Leads franchise in games played and is the highest scoring defenseman in franchise history. Also has a fun name to say.

other than already retired

Canucks:
Bure
Mogilny (even if he was just chilling for us)
Kirk
Henrik

Bruins:
Seguin (if he becomes what I hope)
Lucic (same)
Thomas
Krejci
Bergeron
Joe Thronton (Just kidding screw No Show Joe!)

Colorado:
Joe Sakic (again!)
Adam Foote

Phoenix:
Kyle Turris (He has immense talent (double bracket doesnt actually deserve it, well maybe, pretty sure he set a record for whining) but has not used it yet)

I would keep all the current ones...
Bobby Hull
Stan Mikita
Glen Hall
Tony Esposito
Denis Savard
Pierre Pilote
Keith Magnusson

I would add...
Chris Chelios (might wait and see what happens with Seabrook and do a double-retirement)
Earl Seibert
Charlie Gardner

Add Doug Wilson and possibly Steve Larmer...

And yes I would retire Graves over Bathgate.

That's absurd. Bathgate is a Hockey Hall of Famer (and not some borderline one). He's an all time great who played the vast majority of his career with the Rangers. It's not his fault the teams were absolute ****.

Another guy I'd retire (along with the usual suspects and the Bread Line) is Bryan Hextall. He's a Hall of Famer. He spent his whole NHL career with the Rangers. And he scored a Stanley Cup winning overtime goal for them in 1940.
