Canada, eh?
Ok EA messed up BIG TIME.

DeKeyser is a 81 OVR with top 6 potential.
Kindl is a freakin 83 top 4 D.
CLEARY IS AN 81 SAME OVR AS DEKEYSER. BUT GUESS WHAT. CLEARY IS LISTED AS A TOP 6 FORWARD.
Quincey is an 84. SAME AS ERICSSON.
Does EA even watch hockey.....?

Now to the prospects.

Sproul is A RED POTENTIAL TOP 6 D. WTF.
Ouellet is a Med potential Top 4 D. Thats debatable.
Mantha has 1 star defense? Ok EA....
Jake Paterson and Thomas McCollum (rated 71 and 72 OVR) are listed as NHL Starters.

Someone uploaded the ratings on YT.

Thanks for posting the vid!

But man does EA suck at ratings.
My favorite from the Sabres is how they gave Mark Pysyk a better shot than Rasmus Ristolainen. Risto outclasses Pysyk in every aspect of the offensive game (other than maybe breakout passing) and the difference is most drastic in their shooting ability. I also like how Matt Hackett, who sucked all last year in the AHL and hasn't done anything noteworthy in a while, now has a higher overall than in last year's game and still has way better potential than goalies who've actually progressed/done impressive things irl, like Ullmark. Also digging how Deslauriers is still a d-man in the game despite being a forward all last season, both in the AHL for Manchester/LA and when he came to Buffalo. Good job EA. :shakehead

I checked through the rosters a bit. Found the following gem.

Best prospect I've found might just be a Buffalo player. Reinhart? No no. Johan Larsson. It's apparently highly likely that he becomes an elite center.

I'm not up to date on the rules, I guess. I would have thought that, since Gostisbehere played in the AHL last year, he'd be included this year.

He played on an ATO. That doesn't count. He would still have to sign a waiver assuming he doesn't open the season in the NHL to be in this year's game.

As far as the overalls and potentials, the past couple years EA has released an update that corrected a lot of obvious mistakes. I know 13 had a release day update, forget what they did for 14.

If we can't edit players, EA better be on their game and not think 1 update a month is sufficient. As an online player, I've always been at the mercy of their ratings.

When someone gets the chance, can you check these ratings (drawn from Xbone) against the old-gen consoles? We've been assuming that the ratings will be the same, but I'm not sure.

Thanks.

The categories are the same I know that. Whether or not the formula for overall changed I'm not sure. I would say it hasn't, but I don't know for sure.

Apparently Mantha has lost two inches and 20 pounds since I last looked. I'd launch a snark comment at EA here, but I've come to expect this sort of garbage from them. Needless to say, there are loads of other errors in the Red Wings roster alone. The one that really cracked me up was Dan Cleary as an 82 with a top-six tag. Cleary was the worst player on the team last season.
