Seriously. The D played pretty well most of last game. So you cut your best safety because he is not going to re-sign next year?

The biggest problem with the Packers has been that they bank too much into the future and 1st round picks. And unfortunately their drafting has not been good enough to give Rodgers enough help on either side of the ball. It makes me angry seeing Rodgers prime years been wasted by just piss poor management.

One thing to let a vet go before they are due a 3rd contract but this is a talented and performing safety in his mid 20’s that you should be locking in for the next 3-4 years.

Who else are they paying? The corners are all on rookie deals. How much does their front 7 make? On offense it’s Rodgers and Cobb and Graham and Adams at the skilled positions. No money at RB. And a couple of OL get paid.

Teams generally have around 12 guys making good money. The rest on rookie deals or lower cost veterans.
