Wasn't this guy traded to Tampa?

ETA: Oh Tampa traded him to SJ.

Great flip for SJ. The whole "what is grier doing lmao" narrative is almost as silly as "Thortin is tin man". Almost.

I don't disagree on Eyssimont, but converting waiver pick-up's to draft picks is not a bad strategy in a rebuild.
The Jets are the one who traded a draft pick for a guy who was attained by San Jose for a guy we gave away for free. Not really the best asset management in my eyes but what do I know?

why do nhl clubs keep giving this guy a chance. he is just not good enough to be in nhl

What? Namestnikov is plenty good enough to be in the NHL. He's a very "nothing" player who doesn't excel at anything in particular...but he's very clearly NHL caliber filler. You don't want to have to push him up your depth chart, but you can do a lot worse if you do have to plug him in somewhere. He's versatile enough to do a serviceable job of most things and at least generally not get in the way if he has to be played with more skilled players.

Another year of Chevy putting all his chips on Wheeler and Scheifele… hopefully this offseason Chevy finally gets fired and Wheeler gets dumped to wherever

They waived a guy with a few games and people think they lost out on the next great player….they traded a 4th for a guy with 600+ games and somehow this is super bad. Someone needs to walk me through it step by step

I thought a Namestnikov looked really solid in his Jets debut last night. Definitely an upgrade to some of the players have had in the bottom 6 this year. I’m looking at you Karson Kuhlman.
