He was acquired with the intent of flipping him. Was kinda weird with the delay before the flip instead of it all coming out at once as a 3 team trade, but yeah he was never gonna play in SJ.

I don't disagree on Eyssimont, but converting waiver pick-up's to draft picks is not a bad strategy in a rebuild.

The Jets are the one who traded a draft pick for a guy who was attained by San Jose for a guy we gave away for free. Not really the best asset management in my eyes but what do I know?

What? Namestnikov is plenty good enough to be in the NHL. He's a very "nothing" player who doesn't excel at anything in particular...but he's very clearly NHL caliber filler. You don't want to have to push him up your depth chart, but you can do a lot worse if you do have to plug him in somewhere. He's versatile enough to do a serviceable job of most things and at least generally not get in the way if he has to be played with more skilled players.
