He had 33 in 65 in 08-09 which was lower scoring, but other than that, he didn’t really have the numbers to suggest he would in his other seasons. He had 33, 32 and 28 in 64 in high scoring seasons, and was a high 20s type in the DPE. He might have hit 40 in a big year, but I don’t think it’s a given or something he could do regularly.

He only had 32 in 81 games I 05/06….which was higher scoring than 08/09 as well.

He had 55 points in 54 GO in 2000-01, when the Devils had the #1 offense in the NHL, holding out until mid-November killed his chance for a career year.

That high-powered Devils was pretty quickly dismantled due to rising costs. He had a few very good years after that both in Dallas and Nashville though.
