Let's just say if Chiarelli was gm for 10 years .What would happen to this franchise ? Now let's just go back and analyze in just 2.5 years what he done to this franchise...multiple that by another 4.5 times. This franchise might be in the ECHL by then.

How young is this forum? Jesus the Oilers will never have worse GM than Lowe and it's unquestionable.

Really I'm of the opinion that Lowe was actually the best of the 4 if anything, at least he knew how to acquire dmen without gutting the team (Pronger, Souray, Visnovsky, Gilbert etc)

Tambellini's main issue was that he didn't actually do anything. Just sat around all day and made the occasional Eric Belanger signing or Jerred Smithson trade.

He was also the one who drafted first overall 3 times in a row. And he didn't draft Seguin, Landeskog or Murray.

Say what you want about Chiarelli's moves but he turned the Oilers into a playoff team. Maybe it was only for a year but that's more than Tambellini or MacT did. Those two are in the running for worst GMs of all time. People have a short memory on this site.

Had to vote for Chiarelli.

He's got a team with the reigning Art Ross and Hart winner who is all of 20/21. Instead of strengthening the team, he's added anchors all over it and now the team finds itself near the bottom of the league with little hopes for improvement.

At the very least, Lowe can claim that all of the #1 overall picks he drafted were nowhere near the caliber of Connor who is at worst the 2nd best player in the league already.

Anyone voting Lowe is crazy. He built some damn good teams despite operating under a strict budget imposed by the owners. He acquired 4 top pairing dmen in his last 5 years as GM for less assets than Chia paid for Larsson. He overstayed his welcome but absolutely killed it in 2005/2006.

The correct answer is Chia. Tambo and MacT weren't great but their teams weren't much worse than this current roster despite them not having McDavid and Draisaitl. Chiarelli is up there with Milbury for worst GM in NHL history.
