Why is Fletcher seen that bad exactly?

I mean, on the surface I don't see much problems... Overpaid for Risto but the Ellis and TdA trades were good, no?

Deslauriers signing was good too

I don't see anything drastic

You'd be scared to look at Dorion track record lol

Milbury was destroying the Islanders before Charles Wang bought the franchise.
Milbury literally traded away a stanley cup winning roster.

Bertuzi - Spezza - Palfy
JP Dupont - Jokinen -
Ruutu

Chara- Redden
Berard- McCabe

Luongo
Salo

Mikes horrible trades:
- Traded Bertuzi, McCabe and a 3rd rounder that was Ruutu for Trevor Linden.
- Traded JP Dupont for Nabakov
- Traded Brian Berard for washed up Felix Potvin
- Traded Tommy Salo for table scraps
- Traded away Ziggy Palfy for players he'd traded away for table scraps (Oli Jokinen)
- Traded away Jokinen AND Luongo for table scraps in a single trade
- Traded Chara and 2nd overall (spezza) for Yashin

Mike Milbury made Kevin Lowe look like a freaking genius.
Highlight of Mike's career was climbing into the stands, taking a man's shoe off and proceeding to beat that man with his own shoe.

I think part of the problem is that people here don't really realize how many horribly stupid things Milbury did back in the day. Or maybe some of them have somehow forgotten.

Went by the nickname 'Mad Mike'.

Milbury is in a class of his own. Very few (maybe Peter Chiarelli) have even entered the same stratosphere as Mad Mike. Truly rarefied air. He was (1-minus) 6-sigma bad.

Chiarelli was horrible in Edmonton, but he doesn't approach Milbury's level of wtf. Honestly, I can't think of a GM who was half as bad as Mike.
