"I tell you what, watching him (Braden Halladay) warm up in that bullpen... I was managing in 2001 when we sent Roy down to the minor leagues, and watching him warm up in that bullpen..."

So.... like, is that story just not going to go anywhere, Buck?

You really didn't understand what he was saying here?

I’m not suggesting the Jays should have traded their top prospect but this guy is having a great spring.

I understand what you're reading into the comment, but my "quote" isn't exact, and when Buck actually said it it didn't come across that way. It came across like he was stumbling through the story and then he just stopped.

These guys have three and a half hours of airtime to fill 5 days a week. If you're going to pick on them for a sentence fragment, especially when they're probably chocked up over the memory to begin with...it's not right.

Twins lose their starting SS for 80 games.
So they lose santana for probably a month. There starting ss for almost 3 months and sano is still dealing with the sexual assault accusations and injury issues. And the season hasnt even started yet

Espinoza with 5 hits in 2 games. Ngope did well today. Diaz 0-3. So who starts at SS?

Can't see it being anyone but Diaz to start. Maybe Solarte gets some innings at SS but can't see him getting to many. Right now Espinoza and Ngoepe are battling for the backup infield position.

Spring training box scores won't really weigh too heavily.

I love the Espinosa signing. He's essentially Ryan Goins with switch hitting ability and ISO. He's also better vs LHP, which is a good offset to Diaz and Solarte, who are better against RHP.

If it's me writing up the lineup, it's Diaz primarily against RHP, Espinoza against LHP, and Solarte floating between 3B/SS/2B/1B/DH against RHP receiving close to everyday AB's.

I bet Diaz starts SS. Solarte and Ngoepe are bench players and Espinoza stays with the team as a middle infielder in AAA.

The Phillies have made catcher Cameron Rupp available, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports (subscription required). If they’re unable to find a taker for Rupp in a trade, the Phillies could end up cutting the 29-year-old and eating one-fourth of his $2.05MM salary, per Gelb. Rupp, who saw extensive action in Philadelphia in each of the previous three seasons, has hit .234/.298/.407 in 1,127 major league plate appearances and thrown out 31 percent of would-be base stealers (league average is 28 percent).

Would be interested if he is cheap. Was a 1.6, 1 and 0.8 WAR catcher the last 3 years with 3 years of control with a good arm.

Espinosa might be toast, looking at last year, but if that was just a regular fluctuation in performance and not a permanent drop off then Espinosa is a much better player than Goins, offensively and defensively.

Last 3yrs:

Espinosa: 1308pa, 75wrc+, +20.0df, 3.0war, 1.5war650
Barney: 698pa, 73wrc+, +9.4df, 0.9war, 0.8war650
Goins: 1083pa, 70wrc+, +4.5df, 0.1war, 0.1war650
Ngoepe: 63pa, 71wrc+, +0.3df, 0.0war, 0.0war650

Career

Espinosa: 3268pa, 82wrc+, +50.6war, 10.3war, 2.1war650
Barney: 2759pa, 71wrc+, +62.7df, 6.9war, 1.6war650
Goins: 1397pa, 63wrc+, +15.8df, 0.0war, 0.0war650
