One error

Luke Green is injured but not with the Moose. He was sent back to junior. He did sign his ELC shortly after being sent back though

Strong statistical start for the 2017 draft class.
Vesalainen
Samberg
Kovacevik
Gawanke

Evingson
They are all doing well. I'm sure Virtanen will get rolling too.

Why does everyone ignore Stallard? He is doing better than any of the rest. So far at least.

Oh wait, I see - '17 class.

Well Stallard is doing very well too. 17 pts in 10 games.

5th round? He may have been a year older but with that production last year it's amazing he fell that far.

Jody Stallard was 1st star of the game last night with a goal and a ASSIST in a 4-3 O.T. win.

He now has 19 points in 11 games.

McKenzie with a lone assist last night as the Winterhawks got spanked 7-2.

This Jets 2017 draft reminds me of the 2015 and 2013 drafts where there are lots of guys to keep an eye on that I like.

So we should have another good one in 2019
The even years may have lacked the overall depth, but each year landed a young core player in Trouba (12), Ehlers (14) and Laine (16). Now if we can do that again this year while still making the playoffs I'd be pretty damn happy.

Isn't this pretty much expected of a 20 year old forward in his 5th year in the league?

I don't think it is common among 5th rd picks in their D+2 seasons. He is not in his overage year although I think his birth date would have made him AHL eligible.

Genarro is in his overage year. Also D+3. Genarro has a Mar birth date vs Stallard's Sept date. Not certain of the precise cutoff dates for draft eligibility vs CHL eligibility but they are not the same. De Leo was AHL eligible in his D+2 because of his Oct birth date.

Edit: Genarro was in that position last year. He scored well, 1.16 pts/gm. Stallard is scoring 1.73 pts/gm so far.

That was my point. It's not that uncommon. And just like the NHL early season scoring tends to be higher. You're comparing early season stats with full season stats here

Yes, I know that. I also understand the significance of sample size. That doesn't alter the fact that Stallard is doing very well so far. He is doing much better than Genarro did last year - although he is half a year older and it is early season.

Sample size says it could just be a fluke so far and he will drop back to a pace more normal for a 5th round pick in D+2. But it may also indicate that he has taken a step up and might be a plus prospect for a 5th rounder. He bears watching.

I never said he was doing poorly. But just like Genarro an ELC is far from certain at this point
