Otoh ... he's 25 in 6 days and shows no sign of fatigue, the team plays with confidence with UPL in net, they need the points, Comrie is a poor option, Sabres have 3 days off after tonight's game.

The one good thing to come out of this season has been UPL's emergence. There is no need to run him into the ground chasing the next to impossible.

If UPL fades down the stretch, we need to know if that is some sort of indication of who he is closer to at this time. Run him out on back to backs and if he fades later, we will not know if that is on him or if Granato reached too hard in sending him out there too often.

100% agreed. Another thing to take into account is that UPL does have a bit of an injury history -- both major (hips) and minor nagging things. "Ride him til he drops" might result in exactly that -- he drops and then we rely on Levi and Comrie the rest of the way.

Comrie was fine his last game and most decidedly NOT the reason we lost to Florida. We've got a 3-in-4 coming at the end of the week. Give Comrie this one and see what he does.

No one can know the exact breaking point, but running out a goalie, at this point of the season, until you are mathematically eliminated is one truly stupid way to find out.
