He's off to a great start and it could happen, but it would be difficult to vote for anyone vs the field for the Hart Trophy.

I would give it maybe a 5% chance.

He's in the conversation right now. I'd still put money on McDavid personally, he's just a consistent machine. I think at some point Robertson will have a dry spell and Connor will pull away from the pack.

i think it’s actually between pasta and robertson. I predict the oilers miss the playoffs and mcdavid gets 3rd.

Yes.
Do not expect a decline anytime soon. Defensive system held Robertson back all along. He has shown this production when needed in the past now the defensive burden is gone.

Nope

Extremely impressive so far, but I doubt he keeps this up all year. Lots of other great players too.

Honestly - I still wouldn't even discount Matthews repeating. Waaay far back, but scored goals in 3 straight games (6 points). This is about the time he started his 50 goals in 50 games streak last year.

He's shooting at over 21%, he's definitely going to slow down.

Way too early to tell, I'd of course absolutely love to see it but this pace still may not be enough to knock McJesus off his perch.

Would still be awesome to at least see Robo get a finalist spot.

No. Unless he blows all the other guys out of the water, the voters will overlook him if it's close because he plays for Dallas. And while he's been phenomenal so far I'm not sure it's sustainable for him to finish so far ahead of everyone else. If his numbers are close to other guys on better teams in bigger markets he won't stand a chance with the voters even if he does deserve it.

34% uptick in HDCF/60 and a 18% uptick in OISH% so far. Not going to deny his individual goalscoring will go down though. His rate when trailing was notably higher an individual rate of 17% isn’t out of the question.

At this rate, yes.

Especially if he cracks 50 or even 60 and is right there in the top ~5 in points

edit: meant to vote yes but picked no lmao

I don't see any reason why he can't consistently shoot at around ~17%. His on ice sh% in all situations is also really high at nearly 15%.

I fully expect to see him break 50g 100p this year though. Gonna guess 56g 106p.

Fair enough. I’m not counting on a significant decline in OISH% because his high danger chances are even higher. Only one way to find out though.

I’m guessing 63g 121p

Right now, if he doesn't have it, it's total injustice. Will he keep up untile the end of the season? That's a whole other question. I voted yes.

Doesn't matter how good McDavid is. He isn't winning the Hart of they miss the postseason. Which is looking like a sure bet right now.

Pastrnak & Robertson are front runners.

Crosby may win it if Pittsburgh makes the postseason.

It's a quarter of the way thru the season. Right now its Pasta, Robertson and McDavid in some order.

But it's a quarter way thru the season.

You think Edmonton is making the PO with that awful D, Goaltending, and depth?

I think he, naturally, cools off at least a little, which will hurt him some.

What will hurt him more is that his (presumably) best part of the season came in the first third. Narrative matters, some.

Ok. A good chance they miss

They're sitting in the WC1 spot, and nobody behind them has done anything to make me think they'll suddenly heat up and pass them. I think it's more likely that a team with McDavid on it gets hot than the bunch of teams sitting behind them.
