Makar is only a handful of points behind now . If it wasn’t for the Hughes big game against the sharks they would be tied. Hughes is playing out of his mind and Cale is playing a lot less than what he’s capable of. Hronek, Peterson, Miller, Demko and Hughes are all playing great for the nucks.

It’s from some guys Reddit post where they say that Messier sent them that jersey over 2 decades ago. Assuming they aren’t randomly lying (no Canucks fan would have that jersey), have to think it was as a thank you for something. Once saw a chiro who had worked with a lot of athletes and all their signed photos on his wall had personalized messages

I'd be willing to bet that by the mid season mark if Cale is healthy for all 41 games, he's leading the league again.

This isn't meant as a shot toward your home country, but Canada hasn't won a Cup in 30 years, and most of the teams usually miss the playoffs.

Canadian media is desperate to hype something up with their teams, but they've all been a shit show to varying degrees for a long time.

The only star players to hype up are McDavid, Draisaitl, Matthews, Marner, and now Hughes. Only two of which are actually Canadian, and the only one in the top 10 in scoring is Hughes.

They should be talking more about JT Miller and Elias Petterson leading the league in scoring though. They're not Candian either though. Hughes is the shiny new toy.

It’s a Canadian pasttime to hate SN and TSN (and Rogers & Bell). This hyping up obscure stats/records thing has gotten out of hand. We’re days away from hearing that Hughes now has the record for most points by a LHD under 5’10 with a last name with more than 3 letters but less than 7 in a game on Tuesday evening and starting at 7 PST

The Canadian Cup drought is a funny thing. If you asked most Canadian fans of Canadian teams, they’d only want their team and maybe one from the other side of the country to win. Canada’s team isn’t a real thing (unless it’s an international tournament) but I hope the drought continues
