I have never heard of this player but fire DW. Welcome Calen, hope u can score

MG seems to have a weird fascination with targeting/trading for kind-of random players like Kunin or now Addison

For a 23 year old pending RFA RHD who scored at a 38 point pace last year I don't hate it

He just better not take #2 from Big Willy Style

I’m curious why the Wild are giving up a 23yr old top 4 defenseman for a measly 5th round pick.

We’ll see what happens but if he was THAT good, some other teams would have paid more

He averaged just over 16 minutes a game last year. He's not a top 4 defenseman, or at least he has definitely not proven to be any more than a #6.

Still a worthy gamble for the price. Maybe we get lucky for once and he's Vince Dunn 2.0.

I think in this environment this was a hell of a move by Grier. Addison adds puck moving and offence that Sharks needs from the blue line. He is gonna keep that spot until better defencemen come through from our system, or trade/FA.

This a forced trade-getting player. GMMG signature M.O. Thrun was in the same situation.

I really like this move. We need a defenseman who can actually run the powerplay and Addison seems capable of doing that plus he is cheap and young.

Grier's pro scouting track record has been impressive so far IMO. Lindblom was a bust (still a worthwhile gamble given what he showed pre-cancer) but Sturm, Lorentz, Benning, Eyssimont, MacDonald, Peterson, Zetterlund, Mukhamadullin, Blackwood, G. Smith, Burroughs and Emberson were all previously unheralded or flat out unknown players who have provided good value relative to their acquisition costs. Hopefully Addison is another success along these lines.
