Just a few days after acquiring UFA-to-be Mats Sundin, GM Greg Dockus locked up a pending RFA. Matt Cullen, who has 2 years before he hits UFA status, signed a 3-year deal worth a total of $4.5 million.
"We had to pay a bit more for that 3rd year, but we love what Cullen brings," said Dockus. "We still want to try to sign Mats, but we wanted to make sure we keep everyone we need to make that leap we plan on making."
"It's been exciting watching our team grow," said Cullen. "We've kinda punching bags for a few years, but this is fun now. I'm from Minnesota, and if I end my career here, I'll be a happy man...even happier when we finally bring the Cup here."
