He never really stuck out in junior and therefore wasn't drafted. His teammate in junior (with the Kindersley Klippers - SJHL) Neil Petruic was drafted by Dallas, so it wasn't like scouts weren't watching his team.

Sorry I had him confused with another player drafted from the SJHL by Dallas a couple of years ago, Drew Bagnall.
