he doesn't like the nick name The Tank, so Oshie says he will call him Frank

TJ oshie came on 590 am what used to be the itd morning after(changed name) and they asked him about what his nickname was and Oshie said he(tarasenko) didn't like the tank so he said frank. The guys at the station really jumped on that bandwagon and it took of from there.

Did you notice Panger try to use the 'Frank' moniker during the telecast? But it was for another player (I think Pietro). A little inside joke. Its stuff like that that makes me really appreciate Panger.

A.) Yes, it was Pietrangelo. As a member of the goalie community, Panger remembers Frank Pietrangelo, Penguins back-up goal-tender. Here is his wikipedia page. His cousin had a son. That son is Alex. Here is a video of Frankie's most well-know NHL moment, "The Save":

B.) Oshie is being a little **** to Tarasenko by naming giving him the nickname of Frank. It seems highly likely that it is a reference to the movie "Old School," in which Will Ferrell's charater is named Frank Ricard. Better known as, "Frank the Tank."
