On the same night LeBron continued to show his stranglehold on the Toronto Raptors, Ovechkin/Capitals finally conquered their Penguin ghosts

I don't think even Crosby ever owned the Caps in the playoffs the same way LeBron does with the Raptors.

PIT won 9 of 10 series with WSH before this. CLE has beaten TOR 3 straight years.

Washington lost a gutpunch game 1 ala the Raptors (Blow 2-0 3rd period lead), yet one team never recovered and another did when they had every right to not do so.

Crosby had beaten WAS thrice, as many as LeBron, yet it doesn't have the same feel.

The #LeBronto hashtag became a thing. There was never something like Crosby-ton DC

Do you really need this explained? Lebron plays 80% or more of the minutes for his team in a sport based on repetitive use of set plays designed to put him into a position to score as often as possible in a game in a sport which features repetitive scoring. Crosby plays around 33% of the Pens' minutes in a sport where even a star player can easily go 4-5 games without scoring.

NHL players have 30-45-second shifts. NBA stars can play the first 14 minutes of the game and then proceed to playing the last 8 minutes of the 4th quarter depending on the score.

No kidding. The fact that someone asks a question like this is mindboggling, and the rest of the OP is even worse somehow.

Basketball is a sport where 1 guy makes a big difference. Hockey is more of a team sport.

The best player in basketball can play for the whole game and get as many touches as he feels necessary. His team is also guaranteed possession after a basket, hockey it is easier to dominate possession and keep stars from making huge impacts. Obviously the best hockey players can still have a major effect on the game, but the sport does not allow for the same level of domination.
