I hate the shootout for what its worth but why have they suddenly reduced it from the traditional 5 rounds to 3? Don't these minor leagues want any of their own identities?!

Why shootout are ruining hockey games?

Five is traditional. International play uses five. The minors had the shootout first and always had five. Why did they reduce it suddenly to 3? 3 isn't much of a shootout and if the first team scores they likely win.

They change it so its the same then the NHL.

I know that but why? Screw the NHL. 99.9% of your players are never going there. Minor league hockey is becoming the ultimate sellout.

Then it must have changed recently but no idea where the random 3 came from because it always was 5 until the stupid NHL came along.

The minor leagues exist to serve the major league. Period. If you don't like it, quit watching sports.

I don't like the NBA either. Love basketball but not the NBA.

As for the NHL. Its so watered down. The difference between bad and good isn't much anymore. Two many playoff teams. The rules keep changing for more offense. Next the nets will be so big you won't even need to waste a roster spot for a goalie. Playoff hockey is fun to watch. That said it takes 3 months. The NHL in the 90s I enjoyed. Each lockout the product gets more diluted.

That's not necessarily fair. They exist to win. Why cater from a league you're so far off from? Let those ******** figure out their own rosters and such. No wonder why minor league attendance is declining.
