Because he misses 15% of every season.

Crosby at 85% would still be a top 3-5 center

yes, Malkin's health is a problem in evaluating him, but when his peak is arguably better than anyone else in the game...really hard to say he's not up there. I can see the argument against the de facto #2 spot though.

It ain't enough to be good.....You have to be Available.

what I don't get about this is... ok so he's hurt a good bit. Does that mean what he's done while healthy just disappears or doesn't exist? There's enough of a sample size out there. He has a big enough body of work. It's not like he's only played 30 games a season for 2 years. He's racked up enough minutes and played enough in this league for us to know what he is. Which is a player that so greatly outstrips Toews in production that he more than makes up for Toews edge in the defense category. Malkin's not even a "bad" defensive player, either.

Delusional assessment. Toews is ahead of Geno and Stammer

Delusional? What's delusional is fans that think people who don't think Toews is the best or 2nd best player in the league are delsional. Or people who think Toews is better than Crosby, or deserves to be recognized as the #1 player of all time to wear the #19 jersey, over legends like Trottier, Robinson, Sakic, and Yzerman.
