One of the hardest such polls I've seen. Very well done and very close.

In the end I went with Group B.

I think in an all-star setting like this, goalies are often a wash. Obviously Roy is better historically, but for a one game sample flip a coin. So - goalies are a writeoff to me.

McDavid is best player here. He has insane chemistry with Drai. Jagr is obviously amazing in his own right, but not so sure how far behind peak Kucherov with his 2018-2019 season, or 3 playoff runs is.

Sakic and Hull are really good at their peak, but this says prime - and they both had a lot of ups and downs in their prime, more than the other forwards. So comfortable edge to forwards of B.

Defensemen - honestly both great duos. I'm having a hard time to decide - i think both complement each other great. Equal

So - group B due to forwards. I'm surprised team A is winning by so much.

McDavid vs Sakic
Kucherov vs Jagr
Draisaitl vs Hull
Hedman
vs Leetch
Makar vs Lidstrom
Vasilevskiy vs Roy

It’s not a blowout, but Team A wins this more often than they lose. 4-2 in a playoff series.
I think Hull over Draisaitl is debatable. Especially since it's 5 on 5 only so they can't feed him for PP one-timers.

You should be comparing Drai to Jagr and Hull to Kucherov instead since they play a similar roles for these lineups.

I almost put Draisaitl over Hull, but if we're talking about their top form we have to be thinking of 86-goal, Hart-winning Hull. It's one thing if Drai is playing C, but since he's locked into a wing position here I can't really see him exceeding Hull's contribution. 5-on-5 is a good point in the other direction, though. It's pretty close between them and I wouldn't be strongly opposed to preferring Drai or calling it a tie or whatever.

I agree with that. I would take 2019 peak-form Kucherov over Hull in a 5-on-5 game. Jagr vs Draisatl as wingers is pretty one-sided though.

Kucherov is not = to Jagr what are you smoking?

Did you ever see Jagr in his prime?

The only player that gives Prime Jagr a run for his money is Mcdavid on either team.

Basically can be summarized by what another user has already commented, the key difference being that I believe Kucherov's playoff performances triumph anything else in Jagr's career

Jagr is obviously amazing in his own right, but not so sure how far behind peak Kucherov with his 2018-2019 season, or 3 playoff runs is.

I like Team A as they seem more well rounded. They might lack a bit offensively compared to Team B, but they make up for it in control/defensive play. Brian leetch is super underrated here. Hedman and makar are great, but leetch and lidstrom I feel we’re more consistent in there play. I feel Hedman and makar are more prone to the leetch and lidstrom pair at having defensive lapses.

Player for player:

McDavid > Sakic
Draisaitl < Jagr (no slight to Leon here)
Kucherov < Hull

For the forwards I'd say that team A is probably better, but team B is probably the much better passing group which means that I'd probably take them overall.

Makar = Leetch (Makar maybe better in the end, but Leetch was an offensive beast that could skate really well too)
Hedman < Lidstrom

For the defense I'd probably take the team with Lidstrom as the #1 guy as he was an absolute anchor.

In terms of team building, Makar being a RH shot really helps the dynamic on defense whereas Leetch and Lidstrom are a couple of lefties and I'm not sure if either played RD consistently?

Overall close, but I'd probably take team B for the reasons listed above. The games would be a whole lot of fun to watch!
