OV 07/08 is the best season of this century.
Nope.
2009 Malkin with Art Ross, and historic Conn Smythe
This is one of those clear ovie ainec moments
I don't even see why this is a question. McDavid's Art Ross win was the 2nd or 3rd weakest since the 04-05 lockout, only definitely beating out 2015 Benn and maybe 2011 D Sedin. Ovechkin had 65 goals that year.
Just to put this sentiment in context:
Year | Player | PPG Placing | % Over 2nd | % Over 5th | & Over 10th
2017|Connor McDavid|1st|12|18|33
2016|Patrick Kane|1st|19|29|38
2015|Jamie Benn|3rd|1|7|19
2014|Sidney Crosby|1st|20|27|32
2013|Marty St. Louis|2nd|5|9|22
2012|Evgeni Malkin|1st|12|31|40
2011|Daniel Sedin|1st**|5|14|35
2010|Henrik Sedin|2nd|3|18|30
2009|Evgeni Malkin|2nd|3|20|28
2008|Alex Ovechkin|1st|6|17|29
2007|Sidney Crosby|1st|5|18|26
2006|Joe Thornton|1st|2|21|34
Ovechkin's '08 was better, but I'm surprised the results are 32-0. May as well lock this.
